How often have we all, as children, looked up at the clouds and turned our imagination loose. This painting is based on one I did of my niece many years ago. It shows a young girl who has stopped on her way home from the library with a copy of the tales of Camelot. She has left her bicycle under the oak tree on the left, as she snuggles down in her own secret spot on the side of the hill to read her book in peace. She is surrounded by St. Michaelmas wildflowers and two small rabbits lay quiet and hidden on the right. A glance up from these ancient tales shows her projected imagination of a knight and his steed forming momentarily in a lofty gallop.
