"LAND REPORTED"

"Land Reported" is a interior view of this event from the same angle. In this enlarged view. You can see Midshipman James Ward reporting to Captain Cook of the land just sighted. Captain Cook still in his nightshirt is being helped on with his coat by his steward. Midshipman James Ward is given credit for being the first to sight the Hawaiian Islands. Fortunately there is an ex cell ant oil painting of Midshipman Ward at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich England. made this small piece historically possible.
